English Club Brings Chitose-Themed English Game to Furusato Pocket On Sunday, October 27, Chitose High School’s English Club hosted a booth at the local festival Furusato Pocket. For the event, club members created an original Chitose-themed sugoroku-style board game designed to give visitors a fun opportunity to practice English. Each English Club member contributed English conversation questions about Chitose to the game. Questions included “What is your favorite Chitose souvenir?” and “Where do you like to spend a sunny day in Chitose?” Visitors were invited to play the game together while practicing their English, with club members available to provide translation help when needed.
The booth also featured a collection bin for The Power of Clothing, a clothing donation project in partnership with Uniqlo. Several visitors generously donated children’s clothing, which will be sent to refugees and others in need around the world. We are very grateful for the support and generosity of everyone who contributed.
The Chitose Mayor also stopped by the booth to greet the students. Throughout the day, English Club members welcome many local families and other visitors and enjoyed connecting with people in the community. One visitor said “Thank you for creating this game, it’s so cute! I don’t get to interact with high school students very often, so it was nice to connect with them.”
The event gave our students a wonderful opportunity to use English outside the classroom, share their creativity, and connect with members of their community. We are proud to call Chitose our hometown and were happy to share our love for the city through English!

「What is your favorite Chitose souvenir?(千歳のお土産で一番好きなものは何ですか?)」や「Where do you like to spend a sunny day in Chitose?(千歳で晴れた日にどこで過ごすのが好きですか?)」
